Welcome Cole!

Our sincere apologies for making you wait so long for an update! The heat wave coupled with the 10' corn fields surrounding our house has severely impacted our wireless internet connection! I'm hoping to get a post or two up before it gets too warm today... back up to 104* before we know it!

Colton "Cole" Joseph was born June 15th - he weighed 4 lb. 7 oz. and was 17 3/4" long.
We had a little bit of a scary start, I was 4 weeks early when my water broke. Immediately after being admitted to the hospital, I was rushed in for an emergency c-section as a result of a placental abruption. We were fortunate to arrive at the hospital so quickly, and everything worked out just fine.
Cole spent one week in the Intensive Care Nursery where the wonderful nurses watched over him 24 hours a day! We were thrilled to hear from the doctors that, "he's fine, he's just a little small." Chris got a Father's Day surprise whent the doctor asked if we wanted to take him home with us - a good 4 days earlier than we expected! Cole spent one more night to take his car seat test and to be monitored overnight for the first time off of the warming bed.
It is so hard to believe that he's already one month old! The time does fly!
Clayton loves little Cole to death - he reads to him, talks to him, gets him toys, wants to hold and feed him - such a sweet Big Brother he is! Anyway, here are a few pictures, I'll try to get you up to date as soon as the corn will allow! We hope you're all doing well and are looking forward to you meeting our newest addition!
