Oregon Bound...

Labor Day weekend, we headed up to Salem, OR for the Oregon State Holstein show. On our way up, we drove through the Umpqua National Forest, then up the coast for a bit. We stopped and watched this herd of elk along the highway for about half an hour.
Please contact Chris directly for additional footage of the bull elk performance.

Papa took us to the Sea Lion Caves - the largest sea cave in the world. It was pretty amazing... even though there were no sea lions in the cave that day. The lighthouse in the distance is the Heceta Lighthouse, apparently the most photographed lighthouse in the world. I wonder if it's because of all the people who come to see the sea lions?

We took a break from the show to meet up with Leo's cousin Eddie Rothlin and his wife Shannon. We had a great time and hope to visit with them again soon!

A clear view of Mt. Shasta on our lloooonnngg ride home!
