Heading home...

We left Tillamook around 5:30 AM to begin the LLLoooonnnngggg drive home. We pulled off when we got to I-5 to have breakfast, just in time to see this hot air balloon pass over us. Clayton was thrilled when a firetruck full of firemen pulled in for coffee. They let him sit in the truck and ring the bell... they even turned the lights on for him!
About 100 miles North of the CA border, we stopped to visit with Bruce, Donna, Alton & Hans VanKlaveren at their house on the river. It was a perfect day and the perfect time for a break from the car. The boys had a Great time playing in the water!

Cole was content to snuggle up with Bruce, while the big boys were... uh... being boys in the other room! Thanks to Bruce & Donna! We really enjoyed our visit and your hospitality!

About 20 minutes down the road, this was the scene in our car... and so it remained for the next 3 1/2 hours! Note: Puppy in the "hammock"... she was tired, too!

A great view of Mt. Shasta
And, Dad... these straw bales were in Wheatland! Crazy!
Nope... not a single person in this car is excited to be almost home... I don't know what you're talking about! :)
Maybe all those hours in the car helped a little bit. Since we've been home, the boys love to help unload the dishwasher, and work very well together. Cole hands silverware to Clayton, one at a time, and Clayton puts them away. Ahhh... if they could only reach the glasses and dishes...
