Yesterday, we went with Grammy to donate vanilla ice cream to a local school for root beer floats! Clayton was so excited to be able to help. He listened carefully to Lori as she gave him instructions...
... and took his job of "straw guy" very seriously!
As a special thank you, the boys got to sit and have lunch with the older kids. Clayton was thrilled, and the kids were more than happy to have two short guests at their table! Both boys ate all of their lunch And their root beer floats!
After lunch, we took Cole back to Grammy's house and Clayton and I went on a Date! We went to see Mars Needs Moms in 3D - such a cute movie and a great afternoon! He was so excited to be able to keep his glasses... he wore them all the way home!
We don't have Mommy-Clayton time very often... I definately need to be doing better in this area! Any suggestions on things we could do together?

I am already SO impressed at all you do with your handsome boys. You are doing the best for them by raising them on a farm. Giving them little chores, like Grandma did having them help with the rootbeer floats, builds confidence, responsibility and care for themselves as well as others. You are a great mentor and a greater parent.
On boredom winter days in north WI, we do a lot of arts and crafts with our GrandLoves. We just celebrated a birthday where we included a pinata' and the kids loved it, learning patience as they waited their turn.
They already are thinking well for themselves but you are still the master of their universe. They love your guidance, it is so evident.
