California Country

As members of the California Farm Bureau Federation, our dues include a subscription to California Country magazine. I have added this link to Our Favorites on the side bar, but wanted to share some of my favorite things about this magazine with you. It is no secret that the California dairy industry holds a large piece of my heart, but I am Always amazed at the variety of agriculture commodities that are produced right here in California. From produce to livestock, you can find nearly everything you could imagine.
California agriculture is as diverse as the state itself, and California Country brings you farmers, processing facilities, chefs and many more who play a vital role in the success of this broad industry throughout this great state.
This issue in particular introduces you to chestnut, dairy, turkey, mushroom and living Christmas tree farmers, just to name a few. There are a number of recipes that look delicious, especially the Porcini Crusted Filet Mignon! You can read book reviews, gain some gardening tips, discover new products and so much more!
I just learned in CA Country that the turkey that will be given to President Obama for the annual Thanksgiving pardoning ceremony is bring raised right here in Modesto!
Click the link at the lower portion of the main page and request a complimentary copy of their latest issue (offer only valid for CA residents). If you live outside the state, I promise you won't be disappointed with the bi-monthly subscription for a mere $9 per year!
