Little Trikes

Holy Cow! The past couple of weeks have been a complete Whirl Wind. With back to back events and engagements, it seemed that every day, sometimes more than once, I was grabbing a bag to toss in a few snacks, a change of clothes and the camera, just to rush back out the door, into the car and off to our next adventure!

For the past couple of months, I have been fortunate enough to lend some time to a local non-profit. One of my girlfriends works for The Center for Human Services, an organization that offers various services to members of our community. Last year she asked me to help out with a fundraising event that is held every other year, and I was thrilled a few months back, when she invited me to help on the fundraising event held on opposite years. The every other year event schedule is a great idea for helping change things up. For each of the events, my job has been to solicit and coordinate food donations.

After spending the past 8 weeks contacting and following up with grocery stores and other potential donors, we were finally able to provide an antipasto Hors d'oeuvre display for about 150 guests for the cost of around $40. The topper was attending the event to pour wine pairings following the food demonstration. Such a fun event for a very worthy cause. You can view photos of the event on their Facebook page, as I spent the evening enjoying and pouring, not photographing... :)

The next morning, it was Rise & Shine for another great cause! Our little man's preschool was holding a Trike-A-Thon event, following a week of safety lessons, to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Since this was not his regular school day, the littler guy and I got to attend and assist where we could!
Before they headed out, there was the line up and helmet check... Everyone was excited to hit the road! Cole was excited to be a "big kid"!

At the park just down the street, the kids sped 'round and 'round the "track"... enjoying the sunshine and their wheels...

And a much needed water break!
Once the ride was over, it was time to head back to the school... for some fun in the bounce house,

and the playground before the hot dog BBQ lunch was served.
Thank you to everyone who helped Clayton raise $110 for St. Jude this year!
