The past few weeks, I have been a bit MIA in the blogging world. Things at our house have been a bit like this...
and sometimes like this...
I love it when it's like this!
Our littlest guy, who is nearing his third birthday, has been having breathing trouble over the past year. We have been to the ER on 3-4 separate occasions during the night when he's waken in a panic, unable to breathe. Not to mention countless breathing treatments at the doctor's office.
For about 5 months, we packed around inhalers, both an albuterol and flo-vent, to use on regular and as needed basis, depending on his condition. It finally came to the point where that was not enough, our little guy needs to breathe and he deserves to live a comfortable, happy life.
So on yet another doctor's office visit, we received the official word that he has Asthma and were finally prescribed with a home nebulizer and albuterol, to be used three times each day. This was going well, for a while...
One morning, Little Man was awake in the wee-hours and could not sleep. After two home breathing treatments, that offered little to no relief, we headed back to the doctor's office only to find that he had a cold, which was quickly affecting his respiratory system.
Away we went with prescriptions for antibiotics (to prevent another bout of pneumonia or other infection as a result of the congestion and compromised immune system), and an inhaled steroid, to be used with the albuterol twice per day.
At this point we have been referred to an asthma/allergy specialist to determine whether the attacks are allergy related. I am SO hoping that this is something that he will out-grow over time... and that he has Not inherited his father's allergy future.
Now that things are a bit more under control, hopefully I can spend a little more time catching up and complete some Draft posts!

Awww poor guy - prayers for better times - but he is awfully cute and seems like he takes them with a decent attitude!
Dang! So little to be having to many problems. Hope he starts feeling better soon!
Sorry to hear that he is struggling. My daughter had the same problems and they did grow better with time. Singulair helped her tremendously.
