A New Beginning

'Tis the season of New Beginnings...

So much has happened since the days turned into weeks, turned into months and my posting was severly neglected... our corn was harvested and bagged for silage, our little "big" guy turned 5, the oats were planted, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas all came and went...

As I sit back and look at another year that has passed, I am certain of one thing. I am honored. I am honored to be the mother of two smart and loving boys, I am honored to be the wife of a hard-working dairyman, and I am honored to be a part of the California agriculture family.

I could go on for post after post, reflecting on the things in my life that I am thankful for... but the one thing that I am most thankful for is my family. Agriculture is the incredible vehicle that allows my husband and I to raise our children the same way that we were raised, to appreciate hard work and responsibility, to gain a strong sense of self and create an ethical background that will serve as the foundation of their future; for this I am extremely grateful.

This week we had the privelige of having our family farm highlighted in a mid-west dairy publication, The Dairy Star. Thank you to the staff at The Dairy Star for putting the finishing touch on our year, and Cheers to the beginning of a new year!
